Hey {{First Name | there}}!
I am overjoyed to share that the Creative Current podcast is live and ready to be listened to on Spotify!
This podcast feels like finding the missing piece to a complicated puzzle.
My friend Jess Schimm and I create it together, and I believe it is so much bigger than us. It’s for every creative person who feels the push and pull of creativity alongside life’s demands.
What I love, and what’s different about our podcast
You know how on many podcasts the hosts kick off with a “Let’s dive in” invitation? We really dive in. This podcast holds our real-time processing of what it’s like to choose creativity, trust our inner knowing and bet on ourselves and our vision.
That means our conversations cover a lot of ground, are very honest and not performed. Jess and I are just as surprised as you might be about where they end up. Every time we wrap a recording session we feel lighter, in flow, and a little bit in awe.
The effect this has, I believe, is like we’re thinking alongside you. Not teaching, not overly polished.
We're figuring things out in real time, out loud, together. There are pauses. There are thoughts I don't fully finish before the next one starts forming. There's laughter and vulnerability and conversations that go places that create pure catharsis.
And I know — I know — that will resonate with people. Because I think a lot of us are craving conversations that feel alive, not performed. That go into the uncharted, not just the already-mapped, here’s my elevator pitch response.
I’m so grateful to be having these conversations with Jess. There have been seasons of life when I have felt alone or misunderstood in my creative experience. When I have absolutely craved the type of conversation we’re now recording.
And that’s why the informal and genuine approach is so important to me. I believe it creates space for belonging for you. For the listener. I hope you see yourself in our shares, and trust that I mean it when I say you belong in the conversation.
These are the first three episodes out now:
What to expect with Creative Current communications
Creative Current is separate from this newsletter, Creative Foresight. However, if you like one, I think you’ll love the other. 🙂 I think you will enjoy seeing a different side of me. Where the essays I publish here are a culmination of sorts of what I’m processing in life, the podcast is very much a live processing of the human side of all this creative work.
We plan to publish new episodes on Mondays. You can subscribe on Spotify (coming soon to other platforms), or YouTube to add Creative Current to your shows.
We also have a distinct Creative Current newsletter you can subscribe to. We’ll send out emails when new episodes are live, and it’s also where we’ll share news, updates and opportunities to connect.
Moving forward on the Creative Forsight newsletter, I’ll continue to spotlight the week’s podcast in my Tuesday essays. But if you’re curious and like what you’re seeing you should definitely get on the Creative Current list!
Take a listen and please please please let me know what you think!
Rating and reviewing on Spotify is incredibly valuable to help others find the show. Your generosity in supporting us that way means the world.
